Villa 'La Cancela' is well laid out and spacious for a family of four so we could quickly relax in the beautiful surroundings. It is great to be away from the hustle and bustle of Ronda but also good to be able to get there in 10 minutes! Maria and Mike were very welcoming and have a good knowledge of local walks, sights and restaurants.

Villa 'Los Olivos' had everything we could have wished for our family holiday, even with a 15 month baby in tow!! Mike and Maria are a lovely, helpful and welcoming couple who cooked us a fabulous paella on our arrival at the estate. The villa is in a convenient location by historic Ronda and the absolutely breath taking 'Pass of the Doves' near Grazalema. All needs were catered for, thank you!

The villa is very private and the pool area and garden is very spacious with lush soft grass which is great for a family. It is in a heavenly location very near to beautiful Ronda and the white towns. We return home rested, bronzed and mended and hope to come again next year for our third visit! We had our stay catered; we travelled with a child with a disability and were offered this package by Make a Wish Foundation. This villa is suitable because all is on one level. Mike and Maria did everything to make our stay relaxed; it was better than good… Thank you.

Where to begin - it was such a good time! Finca Maridadi is a very special place, we just could not get over all the detail that is put in the villa. What a joy it was to feel at home here and drink in the Finca lifestyle. We could have not had a more relaxing time if we tried. We had a wonderful stay at La Cancela. My wife and I traveled with our 19 month-old son, and from the very start of our stay Caro was very helpful in accommodating us. There was a baby bed and high chair - both in new condition, and she had even provided our son with some toys. She also provided us with plenty of food, so that we did not have to concern ourselves with going to get groceries upon our arrival. The house itself is beautiful. The yard and pool are well-kept and a large wall separates the villa from the main house, so there is plenty of privacy. We also enjoyed the city of Ronda. It is pretty, clean, and historical with many friendly and helpful people. It also serves as a great home base for travel to the surrounding cities of Sevilla, Granada, and Malaga. I cannot say enough nice things about our experience at La Cancela. It was easily the best part of our trip to Spain.
Thank you once again. We hope we can visit again in the near future!

We have stayed as a family in villa's in Tuscany, Provence and the Cotswolds, but none of those impressed us as much as Finca Maridadi. This has been the first house where we have been inclined to stay put and have wine and cheese on the patio, rather then venture off to nearby villages. The location has been impeccable since we are only a short way to the main strip and all that Ronda has to offer. Overall, we give this serene paradise two thumbs up and a strong recommendation.

This our third visit to Ronda was by far the most enjoyable, due to the quality of both La Cancela and Los Olivos. The warm, homely atmosphere set in such tranquil settings was an absolute delight. Caro was always on hand to assist whenever required, but never obtrusive in any way at all. We can thoroughly recommend both villas in every way and look forward to returning as soon as we are able.

My wife and I just returned from Ronda and a week at La Cancela. We have had some tremendous vacations, especially since we started our international travels, but I'm not sure we've had any better than this one. I don't know how much of it had to do with the area which is unbelievable, or the villa and the wonderful hostess, Caro, but it was a very special week. We'll be back and will stay longer! Kathey and I have continued to smile and remark to each other what a wonderful time we had on this vacation. Everything about it. I can't believe how cool the area is, and we just scratched the surface. And, it was an absolute pleasure being with you and staying in that great villa. We just had a fantastic time.

We have had a wonderful week in La Cancela and the Ronda area. The villa has been superb and we have enjoyed lazing by the pool and sitting round the rustic dining table with torta, local wines and sherry. Your recommendations of Al Lago and Almocabar were fantastic and were the highlight of our culinary experiences. Favourite villages were Gaucin, Grazalema and Zahara. Thank you from the Kiwis!

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for such a marvelous holiday! Even though on paper 10/11 fallen soldiers with a sick bug and a house move in the middle of the holiday we all agree that it was the funniest and happiest of times. The accommodation was so well above what anyone would ever expect these days, comfortable beds, marvellous quality sheets, large proportioned bedrooms (most unlike Spain!), smooth walls instead of pebbledash, enough knives and forks to feed an army instead as one would expect, odd numbers and most missing, clean tea towels, beautiful hand soaps, dishwasher tablets, a welcome hamper of the like I have never seen and would never expect, really good cusions and sofas, a DVD collection that would rival any Blockbuster, super soft towels and swimming towels - unheard of in all the other Spanish properties we have rented. All in all you really, really spoilt us and we had the best time we could have ever have hoped for. We adored all the meals you cooked for us. Shall be in touch with our plans for Summer 2011.

Los Olivos, a perfect place in the hills outside Ronda. Beautifully equipped with everything you could need and more. The gardens and pool providing a wonderful place to relax and spend time with family or friends, plus Caro is next door to help you with anything you need. If anyone wishes to find a haven to rest in, while exploring the stunning scenery in the mountains beyond Ronda, this is the place.

We (a party of three couples) stayed at Los Olivos in January 2010. We found the house to be the most comfortable self-catering accommodation we have ever stayed in.
There was a lovely homely atmosphere and an extremely well equipped kitchen. Caro was a very helpful and friendly host without being in the least intrusive.
I have no hesitation in recommendng Los Olivos as the place to stay near the very beautiful Ronda.

We just wanted to thank you once again for your many contributions to our Andalucia getaway in early December. Finca Maridadi is a delightful place to relax. It's quiet and secluded, yet centrally located amid the region's major attractions.
You were a first-class hostess, and helpful to us in so many ways. All of your recommendations of local restaurants and sights were spot on. And the dinner you cooked for us was delicious.
We'll always remember the Alhambra and the Pueblos Blancos and the fireplace which we keep burning and the stone-cooked veal at the restaurant on our last night. We hope to return some day.

Thanks for the lovely time we have had at La Cancela.
It is beautiful, quiet and extremely comfortable. We have slept very soundly.
It is very handy for both Ronda and the beautiful countryside around here – we love the Roman theatre on the limestone escarpment at Ronda Vieja. We also like the hill walk from the pine trees near Casa del Marques (where you park to walk your delightful and not at all greedy labradors) up to the top of the Sierra de las Cumbres from which we could see Olvera, Grazalema and Ronda Vieja, not to mention Griffon Vultures, Bee-eaters and Hoopoes. We also like the walk along the railway line from Benaojan to Jimena with the Golden Orioles…
...all followed by lazy siestas by the pool.
Our favorite trips were to see the paleolithic cave paintings in Cueva de la Pileta, the fantastic churches and castle in Antequera, and the picturesque mountain village of Grazalema. And we enjoyed the shambolic and rowdy local amateur flamenco competition final in Ronda. Our favorite places in Ronda are the Palacio de Mondragon and the Iglesia de Espiritu Santo. It was so nice to have all these places within not many minutes of our lovely pool and shady garden.
The pub just down the road towards Arriate is friendly and very cheap!
Sorry for smoking you out with the chorizo on the BBQ.

Your villa has been an absolutely splendid setting for our sojourn in Ronda – serene and beautiful from early morning sunrise with birdsong to evening solitude.

Hi Caro – we arrived safely back on Saturday to cold, wet, gloomy England and are feeling very down away from the sunshine of Ronda.
We had a wonderful holiday and really enjoyed our stay with you. The villas were lovely and the gardens exceptional – real havens of tranquility.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Los Olivos here in Ronda. The pool was perfect for the girls and especially as a respite from the afternoon heat. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen so we did not have to buy quite so much. Also it seems you have thought of everything! My favourite was sitting outside on the veranda reading or eating at the lively tiled table.

Los Olivos was a terrific”home away from home” – a private oasis (literally) of sorts – as we so looked forward to our swim in the pool after a full day of sightseeing. The house was very comfortable, and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the outdoor patio for several dinners, as well as having a functioning waster and a line outside to quickly dry our clothes!
Ronda is a fun town to explore, but also centrally located to many of the sites in Andalucia, including Sevilla, Jerez, the Alhambra (Granada), the many “pueblos blancos” in the area, and the Costa del Sol. A visit to the fascinating Cueva de la Pileta (cave paintings) nearby is a special treat.
